The following factors are associated with urinary incontinence:
- smoking
- certain medications (e.g. diuretics)
- constipation/fecal impaction
- physical conditions affecting mobility and dexterity (e.g., MS, arthritis)
- obesity
- caffeine and fluid intakes
- high impact physical activities
- occupations which involve heavy lifting and straining
- certain medical conditions (e.g., diabetes, stroke)
